Back from SEG!

Thanks to everyone who attended the technical session on multicomponent seismology at the SEG meeting in Dallas last week. The session was well-attended and I received some excellent questions from the audience and moderators!

While working on the presentation, it occurred to me how to solve the problem of orienting receivers with limited azimuthal coverage on the edge of a survey. I'm looking forward to extended the methodology to solve this tricky problem!

FIP Presents at SEG 2016 in Dallas!

FIP Geophysical Services will be represented at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Annual Meeting in Dallas this October. The presentation, "Orientation of multicomponent receivers via semblance analysis" by Paul E Murray* (FIP), Gulia Popov (Vecta Oil & Gas) and Bryan C DeVault (Vecta Oil & Gas) will kick off the oral session on advances in multicomponent seismology.

Date: Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Time: 1:30pm-1:55pm

Location: Room 166 in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center

The abstract will be publish on the SEG Technical Program site later this year. Copies of the abstract will be available in the FIP publications section after the meeting.
